- New Indigenous People, by John Twobirds:
"I have no problem with people going out and taking what they need, taking it in a good way, but that is the other question I challenge my audiences to ask - how much is enough? How much do you need?"
- Quote from John Twobirds short article: sacredhoop.demon.co.uk (archived)
- Frank Edge
- Ancient star charts in 17,000-year-old cave paintings of Lascaux, France. An early astrology school or temple seems to have been here.

- Emergence
- A concept that as groups get larger and more complex that new behavior can occur that would not be predictable from the components. The idea gets resistance from both the scientific and religious communities, perhaps a point in its favor. While living creatures and weather systems are common examples it may be helpful to consider two much simpler illustrations.
- Most people are familiar with a rubber band powered model airplane. You turn the propeller a number of times, twisting the rubberband, so that when you let it go the plane flies. If you turn the propeller many times a series of knots forms in the band, getting closer and closer together until there is no further space. At that point a change occurs, and a new row of larger knots begins to form - knots made of the string of knots - a change of state.
- I once heard a group of flutes from Peru that were intended to be played together in sacred ceremonies. Each had a single tone, the tones were different in each flute but when they all were played together an overtone emerged, pulsating, seemingly independent of the sound of any individual flute.
- Emergence is a basic concept in the workings of Nature.
- The Farm
- As the San Francisco Hippie scene was dissolving (or spreading it's seeds, if you wish) a caravan of fifty psychedelic painted
buses left the Haight - Ashbury district and ended up, after many adventures, on a farm in small town Tennessee.
They're still there, still shaping the planet in their own powerful, quiet
way.
- Spiritual Midwifery, vegetarians, and Wisdom keepers.

- Stephen Gaskin
- Stephen taught a class on Monday nights in San Francisco that became a wellspring of spiritual insight for the Hippies. He then led a long bus caravan to rural Tennessee where they founded their commune, based on the ideas of Love and Human Justice that had been discussed in their class.
- "When you start a bubble, it gets bigger and bigger and bigger, and if it includes everybody it can keep growing indefinitely. If it doesn't include everybody, it gets to a point where somebody says, I'm not in this bubble, man, and then Pop! There it goes."
- Quote from Monday Night Class Transcripts: www.thefarm.org/lifestyle/mnc.html . . (this is special.)
- Excerpts from: "Haight Ashbury Flashbacks" deoxy.org/h_somdmt.htm
- Stephen's website: stephengaskin.com/
- Stephen was working on a Hippie old folks' home, Rocinante, right next door to the Farm. This is no longer featured on their website and may not be happening. A real shame, there is great need for something like this.
"We are the people,
This Season's People,
and if we don't do it,
it won't get done."

- Joe Firmage
- Internet millionaire and visionary
- "When the future consequences of both good and bad (global) trends are overlaid upon a chart of time, the resultant figure has some resemblance to a form known in physics as a 'singularity' a point of such rapid, comprehensive and forceful change that the consequences are far too nonlinear to predict ... the generations of people alive today have been assigned by Nature a most challenging task: inventing and then performing aikido motions that will transform the momentum of the 20th century singularity into a stable 21st century foundation for a healthy and happy family of life on Earth. ..."

- Buckminster Fuller
- One of the great thinkers of our time, Bucky Fuller thought to build human systems as nature does - with elegance and efficiency.
- Sample quote:
- "All systems as viewed from the inside are concave; viewed from the outside, they are convex.
- Concave and Convex.
- (marbles and a metal bowl)
- Convex and concave are not the same,
- Yet they always and only coexist.
- (dropping the marbles into the bowl)
- Concave conserves energy
- (turning the bowl over and dropping marbles onto the outside of the bowl)
- and convex distributes it.
- So, they're not the same: Yet they always and only coexist."

- James Furia
- Geomusic - By a slight shift in the current musical scale an ancient complex of meaning in music, sacred sites and units of measure is unveiled.
- It is clear that harmony was a central theme in ancient architecture - this was how man connected to God. From James' insight we find even our musical scale is now out of kilter.
- And thus our whole experience of our world.
